BOSCH Motronic ECU part numbers are 10 digits long and begin with 026....  This we know. Starting with EPROM of 32k in size [27256], BOSCH began putting ECU part numbers and the programmed EPROM part numbers into the code.

Even with Notepad or WordPad, a simple search for "026" (1st three digits of the part number) will find the ECU  identification within the EPROM's code.

Using a hex editor, 010Editor, and searching for "026", I get this.

 99361812301
 0261203163
 1267358138

 Porsche ECU No.
 BOSCH ECU No.

 Chip Part No.

 Reverse Order Searches

Some auto makers have their part numbers in  reverse order . This is a BMW 325i. Search for "620".

Reverse Order
 3710021620
Reverse order search for Alfa Romeo , BMW, Ferrari, Opel, Peugeot, and others.

If "026" does not find it, try "620"
